About me
I established ACB Proofreading in 2011, following my retirement from the police service. That's not as unusual a career change as you might think. One of the skills required of a professional police officer is the ability to write clearly, concisely, accurately and grammatically, with a good eye for detail. This applies whatever the nature of the writing - a simple report, a case file of evidence, a briefing paper or a lengthy policy document. This skill is easily transferrable to the editorial world and has enabled me to help a wide variety of clients.
I am a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) and follow its Professional Practice Code: Ensuring Editorial Excellence.

Working with Andrew on the proofreading of the manuscript for my novel has been a positive experience from beginning to end. I have every intention of doing so again on future manuscripts.
